Description

A Perth Mint quarter Ounce Gold Coin featuring the time-travelling Delorean car from the classic sci-fi comedy Back to the Future. This gold coin is boxed with a certificate of authenticity from the Perth Mint, and features an unusual design to make it seem like the car is leaving the coin.

Only 1,000 of these coins were commissioned by the Perth Mint so this coin is extremely limited edition.

1985 saw the world introduced to what would become one of the most recognisable film franchises ever: Back to the Future. The story, which continued in 1989 and 1990, follows Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and Dr Emmett L. Brown (Christopher Lloyd) as they time travel back to the past in their part of California in a specially designed car.

The three films had a total budget of $99 million and managed to gross almost 10 times that worldwide - a whopping $975.2 million. The Back to the Future series was nominated for five Oscars, winning one in the process.
