Description

A new Britannia 1g gold bar from The Royal Mint, featuring an updated design with enhanced security features. This bar contains 1 gram of pure 24 carat (999.9 fineness) gold.

These new 1 gram gold Britannia bars use an updated version of Jody Clark's modern interpretation of Lady Britannia, with three additional security features to allow for easy visual verification of the bar's authenticity.

- Micro-text found around the edge of Britannia's shield which reads 'DECUS ET TUTAMEN' (an ornament and a safeguard).
- The background surface of the bar is textured to produce a wave-effect when moving the bar.
- A latent image in the top left of the bar will change between a trident and a padlock when viewed at different angles.

The packaging the bar is supplied in also includes a variety of tamper-proof measures for additional peace of mind. Combined, this promises to make the new Britannia 1g gold bars one of the leaders globally for security.
