2020 Proof Gold Sovereign Boxed

This coin weighs the same as a regular (bullion) Sovereign, at 7.98 grams, and is struck from 22-carat gold (91.67% fineness). This Proof has been struck using specially selected blanks, and highly polished dies. During striking, the coinage dies exert enormous pressure on the coin blank, with at least two separate blows (or strikes), ensuring that the impression has additional clarity.

Making the 2020 Proof Sovereign extra special; the original tools of master medallist Benedetto Pistrucci have been digitally scanned, and the classic design remastered, adding extra detail and ensuring accuracy to the original Sovereign coin.

Commemorating 200 years since the death of King George III, the 2020 Sovereign also features the late King's 'Royal Cypher' to the left of the date. All of this promises to make this years coin unique, and a great addition to any collection.

This gold Sovereign is bound in a good-looking case, and comes complete with its own booklet/certificate of authenticity.
