This applies to all investment-grade gold bars produced to a fineness of 995 or higher in a weight accepted by the bullion markets. The Britannia is the Royal Mint's flagship gold bar design, featuring Jody Clark's portrait of Britannia clutching her trident as she gazes over the waves. Britannia has been a symbol of British identity and naval strength for centuries, and the same design appears on the Royal Mint's hugely popular Britannia bullion coin range. Each Britannia gold bar is sealed in a CertiCard with a tamper-evident seal and a unique serial number, and is available in a range of sizes from 1 gram to 100g.

Royal Mint Gold Bar Serial Numbers

Every new Royal Mint gold bar is stamped with a unique serial number and supplied in the Mint's CertiCard blister card packaging, which carries a tamper-evident seal designed to make any interference clearly visible. We always recommend buying Royal Mint gold bars from authorised distributors to be sure of receiving a genuine product. The resale value of a Royal Mint gold bar is not affected by removing it from its CertiCard packaging, although bars are easier to sell when the packaging is intact. When selling, the buyer will normally need to remove the bar to test purity. The price you receive is determined by the weight of the bar and the current spot price of gold.
