Umicore is a Belgian precious metals company, headquartered in Brussels and operating from its main refinery in Hoboken, near Antwerp. Their gold bars are manufactured from 24 carat gold to a fineness of 999.9, and the company is on the LBMA Good Delivery List of approved refiners. Umicore's heritage in precious metals stretches back over 200 years to 1805, and today it is listed on Belgium's benchmark BEL20 stock market index. VAT on Umicore Gold Bars

Umicore gold bars are classed as investment gold and are exempt from VAT. This applies to all investment-grade gold bars produced to a fineness of 995 or higher in a weight accepted by the bullion markets. All Umicore gold bars we stock meet this standard, being produced from 24 carat gold to a minimum fineness of 999.9. The price you see on our website is the price you pay - there is no additional VAT to add at checkout.

Umicore Gold Bar Sizes and Designs

We stock Umicore gold bars across a wide range of weights to suit different investment budgets. Umicore minted gold bars are available in 1 gram, 2.5g, 5g, 10g, 20g, 50g and 100g sizes, sealed into tamper-evident assay cards with a matching certificate of authenticity. For larger investments we stock Umicore cast gold bars in 250g, 500g and 1kg.

Umicore gold bars carry a clean, functional design rather than a decorative one. Each bar is stamped with the company name and logo, the weight, the words 'FEIN GOLD' and the purity of 999.9. Up to 100g, the bar's assay card also carries Umicore's 'Good Gold' sustainability stamp, marking it as produced under the company's responsible sourcing standard.

Umicore Gold Bar Serial Numbers

Every Umicore gold bar carries a unique serial number. On bars up to 100g, the bar is sealed into an assay card with a certificate of authenticity that matches the bar's serial number. The serial number is intended as a record-keeping aid, not a verification tool - a number alone cannot confirm a gold bar is genuine, so we always recommend buying only from reputable bullion dealers that guarantee authenticity. The resale value of a Umicore gold bar is not affected by removing it from its assay card, although bars are easier to sell when the packaging is intact. When selling, the buyer will normally need to remove the bar to test purity using an XRF analysis device. The price you receive is determined by the weight of the bar and the current spot price of gold.
