Description

The 2026 1oz Gold Legendary Creatures Loch Ness Monster Coin is the first release in The Royal Mint’s new Legendary Creatures bullion coin series. Its reverse depicts the famous Loch Ness Monster, drawing inspiration from the enduring mystery and the iconic 1934 ‘surgeon’s photograph’.

The obverse bears the official coinage portrait of His Majesty King Charles III by Martin Jennings. Combining Scottish folklore with precious metal craftsmanship, the coin introduces the Legendary Creatures series with one of the world’s most recognisable legendary creatures.

Struck in 999.9 fine gold, the coin weighs 31.21 grams, measures 32.69mm in diameter and has a face value of £100. The maximum coin mintage is limited to 5,000.
