Description

The 2025 The British Lion 1oz gold coin from The Royal Mint. This coin is part of a new series by the mint, celebrating the Lion, an iconic part of British heraldry for centuries.

The 2025 British Lion 1oz gold coin features the animal in a striking pose holding a shield, representing Britain's strength and authority, designed by David Lawrence. The background surface of the reverse uses an Union Flag surface animation for additional security and authentication. The obverse features the official portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings.

Each 2025 1oz The British Lion gold coin contains 31.1 grams of 999.9 fine gold, it has a face value of £100 and is limited to a mintage of just 5,000 coins.
