Description

The 2012 gold Proof Sovereign coin, with a special design specifically for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. This design is therefore particularly popular with collectors.

This coin weighs the same as a regular (or Bullion) Sovereign, at 7.98grams and 22-carat gold (91.67% fineness). This proof has been struck using specially selected blanks and highly polished dies. During striking, the coinage dies exert enormous pressure on the coin blank, with at least two separate blows (or strikes), ensuring that the impression has extra clarity. Complete with its own case and booklet/Certificate of Authenticity.
