Description

A 2002 gold Proof Half Sovereign coin from The Royal Mint. This coin weighs the same as a regular Half Sovereign, at 3.99 grams and struck with 22-carat gold (91.67% fineness). The 2002 Proof Half Sovereign marked the Golden Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with a unique design, making it a collectors favourite.

This proof has been struck using specially selected blanks and highly polished dies. During striking, the coinage dies exert enormous pressure on the coin blank, with at least two separate blows (or strikes), ensuring that the impression has extra clarity. Complete with its own booklet, and bound in a good-looking case.
