Due to the accession of His Majesty King Charles III The Royal Mint have launched a special second Britannia coin in 2023 featuring the effigy of the new King by Martin Jennings. The 2023 King Charles III 1oz Britannia gold coin contains 1 troy ounce (31.1 grams) of pure gold, and is sure to remain one of the first choices for investors and collectors, marking a new chapter in this classic British coin series.

Since 2021 the 1oz Gold Britannia coins have featured The Royal Mint's advanced security measures, such as:
