The 2023 Coronation Piedfort Proof Sovereign is a tribute to the historic crowning of His Majesty King Charles III at Westminster Abbey on May 6, 2023. This coin represents the beginning of a new royal era for the United Kingdom and holds a significant place in The Sovereign's lineage.

The reverse side of the coin features the enduring St George and the dragon design by Benedetto Pistrucci, which has been associated with The Sovereign since 1817. On the obverse side, there is a crowned portrait of King Charles III, exclusively designed by Martin Jennings for The Royal Mint, capturing the essence of his important coronation ceremony.

A Piedfort Sovereign is the standard Sovereign size but twice the thickness with double the gold content. The coin is beautifully boxed with a detailed booklet that provides insights into the coronation ceremony and The King's journey to the throne.
