Description

This 2022 gold proof piedfort Sovereign coin features the 5th portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark, and marks the historic Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty. Piedfort coins are twice the thickness of standard coins. Only 3,500 coins issued by the Royal Mint.

This proof has been struck using specially selected blanks and highly polished dies. During striking, the coinage dies exert enormous pressure on the coin blank, with at least two separate blows (or strikes), ensuring that the impression has extra clarity.

This 2022 Proof Piedfort Sovereign coin is provided in a Royal Mint case, complete with certificate of authenticity.
