Description

The 2027 Double Sovereign is a British gold coin, minted by the Royal Mint. The weight of the coin is 15.98 grams with a fineness of 916.7 (22 carat gold), this means it contains 14.6448 grams of pure gold. The diameter of the coin is 28.4 mm. The Double Sovereigns have a face value of 2 pounds and are legal tender in the UK.

The reverse uses the classic George & Dragon design by Pistrucci surrounded by micro-text with the inscription 'HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE', the motto of the Order of the Garter.

The obverse of the coin includes the official portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings, while a latent image below the monarch's effigy and a half-tone pattern provide additional authentication measures.

The latest version of a classic design with security features means the Sovereign coin continues to be a must-have for investors and collectors alike.
