Description

A 1991 gold Proof Sovereign 4-coin set from The Royal Mint. This set includes a Proof Quintuple Sovereign (five-pound coin), Double Sovereign (two-pound coin), Sovereign and Half Sovereign. These proof coins have been struck using specially selected blanks and highly polished dies. During striking, the coinage dies exert enormous pressure on the coin blank, with at least two separate blows (or strikes), ensuring that the impression has extra clarity.

Complete with its own booklet/Certificate of Authenticity. Bound in a good-looking light-red leather case. These four sovereigns contain the classic design by Benedetto Pistrucci, with the third portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.
