Description

A 1992 gold proof Double Sovereign coin from The Royal Mint. The two pound gold coin, sometimes referred to as a Double Sovereign, contains 14.63 grams of gold (twice the weight of a Gold Sovereign). This 22-carat gold coin comes with box and certificate.

The obverse of the coin features the third portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf, while the reverse of the coin supports the traditional St George and the dragon design, created in 1817 by Benedetto Pistrucci. Only 476 of these sets were ever issued.
