Description

A beautiful $100 American Liberty 1oz gold coin in Ultra High Relief, celebrating the 225th anniversary of the founding of the United States Mint. Only 30,823 were sold by the US Mint.

The $100 Liberty gold coin is struck at 24-carat fineness, weighing exactly 1 troy ounce (31.1 grams). The coin was designed by Justin Kunz and Chris Costello, whose initials (JK and CTC) can be seen on either side of the coin. The obverse features Lady Liberty, but for the first time in American history she was portrayed as a black woman.

The W mintmark appears on the reverse to indicate that this coin was produced as the West Point Mint in New York, and the coin's edge bears raised lettering reading "225th ANNIVERSARY", with a star either side of the lettering.
