Description

The 2024 Australian Quokka 1oz silver coin is produced by the Perth Mint in 9999 purity with one troy ounce of silver, and a face value of $1.

Quokkas are a small, herbivorous marsupial native to a few small islands of Western Australia. Known for their friendly and photogenic appearance the quokka is often called "the world's happiest animal" thanks to its distinctive smile. They have a round, compact body, and are known for their curiosity and lack of fear towards humans.

The design of the silver Quokka coins changes each year, this year's design by Natasha Muhl features a cute family of quokkas with the lighthouse of Rottnest Island in the background. It also features the coin’s weight, purity and year-date as well as a special 'P125' mintmark marking the anniversary of the Perth Mint. The obverse of the 2024 Silver Quokka coin bears the portrait of King Charles III by Dan Thorne.
