The 2023 The Penguin 1oz proof silver coin is a collectible coin produced by the New Zealand Mint, as part of their DC Villains series. The coin features the iconic character and ' Gentleman of Crime', the Penguin.
The Penguin, aka Oswald Cobblepot, is a cunning and ruthless criminal in Batman's rogues' gallery. With a portly figure, top hat, and umbrella, he runs the Iceberg Lounge as a front for illegal activities in Gotham City, using his love for birds and unique gadgets to challenge the Dark Knight.
The design showcases a detailed portrait of the Penguin with his top-hat and monocle. The background features comic book style panes with of the Penguin. The obverse side of the coin features the Public Seal of Niue, confirming the coin's legal tender status.
The Penguin 1oz proof silver coin is made of one troy ounce of 99.99% pure silver and has a limited mintage of 1,000 pieces worldwide. It comes in a protective acrylic capsule with a themed box and a numbered certificate of authenticity.
Orders to Ireland will be sent via Colissimo (DPD/An Post) with an optional upgrade to FedEx. Parcels are dispatched from within the EU.
