The 20 Kroner Christian X gold coin is a limited period mintage of a classic Danish coin. The Copenhagen Mint produced this for the government of Denmark between 1913 and 1917. The reverse side features a little heart symbol to prove its origin.
The coin is 90% pure gold and in size terms is very slightly larger than a British sovereign coin.
On the reverse of the coin is the head of Christian X and the words KONGE AF DANMARK, which rather unsurprisingly translates as King of Denmark. Considered one of the most popular rulers, King Christian was the son of Frederik VIII and ruled between 1912 and 1947.
The front (obverse) of the coin bears the Danish coat of arms. It also states the coin's year of minting, the coin's value, and the initials VBP for the Copenhagen Mint's chief engraver at that time – V.B. Poulsen.
