This is the 10 Swiss Franc gold coin issued between 1912-1922. It is made of 900 fineness gold, with copper added to the minting process to add strength and resilience.
The Swiss Mint produced these coins in Bern, but to a much lesser extent than the 20 Franc coin.
Fritz Landry, Swiss medallist and sculptor, designed the Vreneli coins. His signature appears below the portrait near the lady's chin on the obverse side.
The front of the coin features Helvetia, dubbed the 'Swiss Miss'. She was designed to appear similar to the likes of the America's Lady Liberty. The woman has plaited hair and a garland of Edelweiss, with the Swiss Alps behind her. Eagle eyed collectors will notice that the mountains are different compared to the 20 Franc coins.
The reverse of the coin bears the Swiss cross shining like the sun in the sky.
